About the site:

BassByte.com was formed on the 25th of April 2006, with the simple purpose of hosting DJ's mixes for them. I had seen the overwhelming amount of annoyance you have to go through when using places like MegaUpload, YouSendIt, Rapidshare, etc and wanted somewhere for the DJ's to have complete control over their mixes, and a download-resumable, worthwhile amount of space for them to host their stuff on.

With that in mind, I asked many of the DJ's from the GlobalHardStyle.com forums if they would be interested. The reaction was positive, and the site was formed.
